Review by :Arghya Roy    This book takes place milleniums into the future, and there's an empire that controls the whole galaxy. This empire is ruled by an entity, known as the Imperial Mind (it's actually a collection of all the former princes who became emperor) and millions of cybernetic humans, called Princes. After every 20 years, 1000 prices are chosen to battle for supremacy, to be chosen to enter the Imperial Mind. Also, these Princes have 3 main types of bodily advantages over humans. Bitek (advanced biological weaponry and technology), Psitek (advanced mental weaponry and technology, and the 1 inherent skill that all princes have, and if you have more of it then other princes, then you can be an imperial candidate), and Mektek (advanced mechanical weaponry and technology). In addition to this, Princes can be reborn, if their death was a noble one, and they have priests who take care of them, and Princes can telepathically speak to them (via Psitek.) Many prin

Review by : Arghya Roy The book takes place several decades into the future, on an Earth that has fought against creatures known as Formics (or 'buggers') on 2 separate occasions, known as the First and Second Formic wars. The protagonist of the book, Andrew 'Ender' Wiggin is 4 years old, when something called a monitor is put into his neck, and 2 years later, he's selected for a military academy known as 'Battle School', where kids start training at a very young age to become commanding officers of the International Fleet (IF). However, the superior officers at the school have something special planned for him, as they plan to isolate him from the rest of the cadets. The purpose of this is so that he can lead the IF in a final confrontation with the Formics, whereas previously the Formics attacked Earth, and now the IF will attack the Bugger homeworld. He's 6 years old when he starts his training, and the superior officer, Hyrum Gra

Dung Beetles , Slugs , Leeches and More - Yucky Science Series

Review by: Yagyesha Roy ;) I really don't like the Yucky Science Series but there was one book  that I really enjoyed. It was Tapeworms, Foot fungus, Lice and More . I learned cool facts and so when I saw this , I picked it up at my local library . So, here is my ten list. Ten facts that I learned after reading this book . There are some lizards that can squirt blood from their eyes. Cockroaches can survive for weeks without their head. There is a type of slug that looks like a long, bright banana. Snails are basically slugs with a shell. Ticks can drink so much blood that their bodies can swell up like a fat ripe grape. Some doctors use leeches to fix blood clots. Some plants actually drown insects and "eat" them. If a slug stays in the sun too long, it's protective mucus dries up and it dies. The animal that makes the most slime lives underwater. Fulmar chick's puke sticks like super glue.

Review by :Yagyesha Roy                       Here are the ten facts that I learned after reading this book - etsy Ross is famous for sewing the National Flag but some people doubt it as there is no proof . Betsy Ross' Full name was Elizabeth Griscom Ross Ashburn Claypool  and she born in a Quaker family. Betsy gave birth to 7 children . Out of these seven , one gave birth to twins and named one after her. Betsy had fourteen sibling while growing up and her dad worked in making houses and furniture. Betsy Ross was born on New Year Day in 1752 in Philadelphia and also died there at the age of 84. She started working at a very young age of twelve as a seamstress . Most of her family members died from yellow fever . She made blankets and tents for the American army and later she made flags for battle ships . It was her grandson who claimed that she sewed the first American National Flag though she never claimed it in her lifetime. She stayed in Philadelphia even whe

While he's lying down in front of bulldozers, his friend, Ford Prefect, asks him to follow him, but Arthur Dent explains his situation to Prefect, so Ford Prefect hypnotizes the construction manager, and Arthur follows him.  He explains to Arthur that he's an alien, and that the world is going to end in 2 minutes. Right then, huge ships from the Vogon Construction Fleet come by, and they obliterate Earth for a galactic freeway, but Prefect and Dent are teleported on board the ship since the cooks on the ship like hitchhikers, (which Prefect is [he's a researcher for the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and he was stranded on Earth]) and it annoys their ma

Ben Silverstein couldn't believe his eyes! Could it be.... a Dragon? -  These lines made me very interested in reading this book.
